With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lena Madison Claiborne Smith (Clarksville, Virginia), who passed away on May 2, 2021 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her spouse Maclin McCarty Smith; her parents, Ryland Claiborne and Minnie Wooten Claiborne; and her sisters, Margaret C. Wright and Lorene C. Ward.
She is survived by: her daughter Sandra; her son-in-law Jerry Hill of Chandler, AZ; her granddaughters, Amy Paige Vaughn and Courtney Madison Sanders; her great grandchildren, Meghan Vaughn, Parker Vaughn, Peyton Madison Sanders and Austin Sanders; her nieces, Anne Owen and Peggy Easter; and her nephew Tim Ward.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be considered to the American Cancer Society or Clarksville Presbyterian Church.
