Richard H. Collins Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard H. Collins of Churchville, Virginia, who passed away on August 10, 2021 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Nicholas and Mary Ervine Collins (Rawley); his wife Shirley Collins (Graham); his brothers, Howard Lindbergh (Norma Collins), John Rawley (Geraldine Collins) and Jared Nelson (Rita Collins); and his brother-in-law Francis Leo "Bud" Whitson.
He is survived by: his sister Dorothy Josephine Whitson (Collins) of Deerfield, Virginia; his daughters, Pamela Ritter (Michael) of Richmond and Patricia King (Jonathan) of Richmond; his grandchildren, English Riley (Mike) of Richmond, Ralston King (Betts) of Richmond, Graham Ritter of New York and Bryce Ritter of Richmond; and his great grandchildren, Preston Wiltshire King of Richmond, William Betts "Buck" King of Richmond and Luke Edward Riley of Richmond. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor his life may make a contribution to the Collins Center, which was created as a result of Shirley's death, to aid domestic violence and abuse, at 217 South Liberty Street, #205, Harrisonburg, VA 22801; or to Hunters for the Hungry, P.O. Box 304, Big Island, VA 24526; or a charity of choice.
