He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow W. "Woody" Ashby and Geraldine Beckwith "Becky" Ashby (Sandidge); and his brother Thomas Sandidge Ashby. He is survived by: his sons, W. W. "Chip" Ashby III (Kimberly) of Littleton, Colo and Christopher S. "Boozie" Ashby (Tanya) of Churchville; his siblings, Christopher Clark Ashby (Barbara) of Churchville, Forrest Turner Ashby (Donna) of Staunton, Jane Ashby Bagley of Swoope and Judith Ashby Steed of Charlotte, N. C.; his sister-in-law Anna Herrington Ashby of Churchville; and his grandsons, Ryder and Griffyn Ashby of Colorado. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
