It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Kent Layne (Churchville, Virginia), who passed away on March 11, 2025, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Kent Layne to show support.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Kent is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Kent's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He is survived by: his parents, Don G. Layne and Nancy Layne (Sellers) of Waynesboro; his sisters, Kim Layne Quesenbery (George Kate) and Kelly Layne Price; his nieces and nephews, Logan Quesenbery (Patrick Williams), Haley Quesenbery, Tara Swartz Pate (Chase Pate) and Grant Swartz; his great-niece Evie Williams; and his great-nephew Holden Williams. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bear Funeral Home (14 Green Hill Ln, Churchville, VA 24421).
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105) or to RARO Adventures (300A White Street Lexington VA 24450), which is a program that promotes outdoor activities for kids, including fishing, kayaking and hunter safety training (please note "in memory of Kent Layne" in memo).
