It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Allanson (Churchville, Virginia), who passed away on January 9, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Allanson and Lena Hodge Allanson; his brother Elmer C. Allanson; his son-in-law James F. Nycum, Jr.; and his close friend Roscoe Hanger of Churchville.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Allanson (Botkin); his children, Brenda A. Nycum and Larry D. Allanson (Ann); his grandchildren, Sheila N. Jennings (Jeff), James "Nick" Nycum (Sarah), Morgan A. Glass (Kameron), Dylan D. Allanson (Mary Kate), Benjamin J. McDevitt (Erin) and Joshua P. McDevitt (Cara); his great grandchildren, Garrett, Colton, Parker Jennings, Adelyn, Case, Crew, Wells Nycum, Ellie Jarvis, Berkley, Amelia McDevitt, William and Caroline McDevitt; his niece Doris A. Whitson; and his close friend Paul Zimmerman of Churchville. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
