He was predeceased by: his parents, Denver Ray and Bessie Mabel Eckard (Hoover); his wife Joyce Eckard (Hull); and his brother Willard Eckard. He is survived by: his daughter Kim Wimer (Eckard) of Churchville; his niece Penny Stump of Franklin, WV.; and his close friends, Bernie Plotner, Dwight Strickler, David Wimer, Danny Griffin, Billy Mullins, Ralph "Little" Shull, Dee Hoover, J. D. Robertson, Travis Griffin, George Lambert and Trenton Strickler.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Obaugh Funeral Home (8739 Highland Turnpike, McDowell, VA 24458). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Doe Hill Cemetery.
