Nancy Barker Akers Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nancy Barker Akers of Christiansburg, Virginia, who passed away on August 28, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Emmett Akers; her parents, Fredrick Ernest and Leathie Barker; her siblings, Edmond Barker and Jennie Barker; her sister-in-law Kathleen Barker; her nephew Lawrence Hall; and her great-nephew Anthony Vaughan.

She is survived by: her daughter Paulette Akers Nunley (Elwood); her grandchild Cheeto; her niece Leathie Hall; her nephew Edmond Barker (Donna); her great-nieces, Erica Meredith (Jason), Michelle Barker and Kimberly Barker; her great-nephew Thomas Barker (Wendy); and also, Conner Meredith and Sebastian Barker.
