It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Myra Lillian Van Lear of Christiansburg, Virginia, who passed away on February 13, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arby Harris and Gertrude Harris of Indian Valley, VA; her husband Edward Van Lear I; her son Edward Van Lear II of Christiansburg, VA.; and her brother Glen Harris.
She is survived by: her children, Mark Van Lear of Pembrook, VA and Amanda Leddy (Harvey) of Roanoke, VA.; her grandchildren, Rebecca Duncan (Dominique), Tanner Van Lear, Rachel Leddy, Stephen Leddy and Jaxson Leddy; her great grandchildren, Aria and Ava Duncan; her siblings, Alvin Harris (Joyce) of Richmond, VA and Nancy Ballengee (Chuck) of Christiansburg, VA.; her nieces and nephews, Jason Harris (Ceilia), Justin Harris (Amy), Jonathan Cromer (Anita), Amy Harris (John), Nicole Thompson (Greg), Eric Harris and Matthew Phillips (Amy); and her sister-in-law Bonnie Harris.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Horne Funeral Service (1300 N Franklin St, Christiansburg, VA 24073). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Horne Funeral Home (1300 N Franklin St, Christiansburg, VA 24073).
