He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Hinton Hampton "Hamp" Ballard and Doris Ballard; his wife Sheila Ballard; his friend Shari Rutherford; his siblings, Jeanie Brickle (Sam) and Dennis; his sister-in-law Patience Flynn; and his stepdaughters, Devon O'Gara and Brittany O'Dell. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
The date of the Memorial dedication of the scholarship and celebration of Max's many contributions to the school and the students he mentored will be announced at a later date.
