She was predeceased by: her husband Edward Hanks (Bud); her grandson Dylan Hanks; and her parents, Terry Edwards and Zenna Edwards of Grayson County, Virginia.. She is survived by: her children, Charlie Hanks (Linda) and Billy Hanks; her grandchildren, Brandon Hanks (Ashlee), Ramsey Hanchette (Casey), Lindsey Hanks and Kayla Penca (Joey); her great grandchildren, McKenna and Madelyn Penca; her siblings, Lucille Edwards Farmer of Raby Edwards, L. D and Curtis Edwards; her caregivers, Ann Mills, Sharon Baker and Whitley Davis; and also Mike Derflinger.
Marietta was a highly active member of St. Paul's Methodist Church in Christiansburg, very rarely missing Sunday services until Covid.
