It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Larry Wendell Akers (Christiansburg, Virginia), who passed away on April 16, 2023, at the age of 57, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Sidney Edward Akers; his brother-in-law Bobby Agee; and his aunts, Frances Sheppard and Linda Parmelee. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann Akers; his sons, Justin (Whitney Akers) and Nicholas (Michaela Akers); his grandchildren, Connor Akers and Sawyer Akers; his mother Eunice Jones; his brother Gary; his sister-in-law Shirley Akers; his sister Lynette Akers; his siblings-in-law, Peggy Winters, Billy and Donna Agee; his uncle Aubrey Sheppard; his cousin Link Sheppard; his pets, Harley, Ethel, Dixie and Brugh; and his close friends, Gail, Lisa, Debbie, Sheriff Hank Partin, Captain Jason Cochran and Lt. John Stull. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
