It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gratton Howard Thompson Jr. of Christiansburg, Virginia, who passed away on November 10, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Thompson and Nora Thompson; his former wife Edna Collins Thompson; and his siblings, Genevia Bennett, Nancy Gilmore, Kathleen Bowling and Boyd Thompson.

He is survived by: his wife Cora Farley Wade Thompson; his daughter Carolyn Turner; his son-in-law Neal; his grandchildren, Terri Murray (Eddie) and Brandon Turner (Kate); his great grandchildren, Jade Parker, Caleb, Carter Murray and Brice; his great great grandchildren, Lily Murray and Finleigh Parker; his siblings, Jean Thompson and Doug Thompson; his stepson Marvin Wade (Sandy); his grandchildren, Michael Wade, Mandy, Sara Ogle and Kyle; and his great grandchildren, Meiah Wade, Mayleigh Wade, Macie Wade, Malachi Wade, Aiden Clayburn, Ryleigh Ogle and Eli Ogle.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hope Church (2720 Roanoke St, Christiansburg, VA 24073). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
