Carolyn Hines Obituary

We are sad to announce that on December 16, 2018, at the age of 74, Carolyn Hines (Christiansburg, Virginia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Archie M. Altizer and Nobie Phillips Altizer; her stepdaughter Sheryl Hines Duncan; and her stepdaughter-in-law Carolyn Newman Hines. She is survived by: her husband Gray Hines; her daughter Amy Hines Horne (Brian); her granddaughters, Rachel Altizer (Daniel), Grayce Bishop (Preston), Quinn Horne and Makenna Horne; her daughter Jennifer Hines Duncan (Brian); her grandchildren, Malorie Bower, Levi Bower, Mason Hines and Drake Duncan; her great grandchild Remington; her brother Douglas Altizer (Jeannie); her stepchildren, Donnie Hines, Jay Hines (Gail), Kent Hines and Mark Hines (Cathy); her son-in-law Harold Duncan; her stepgrandchildren, Brad, Will, Amanda, Terri, Tony, Trish, Amber, Sarah and Eric; her aunt Edna; her nieces and nephews, Laura, Mindi, Cara, Woody and Chase; and her close friends, Linda, Glenna and Roy. She is also survived by numerous step-great-grandchildren and other extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
