He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Raines and Jewel Helms Raines; his daughters, Julie Raines and Tammy Epperly; his granddaughter Amy Raines; his great grandchild Brianna Speaks; and his son-in-law J. W. Berry.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Raines; his children, Cindy Plaugher, Theresa Plaugher, Melissa Graham (Tracy), Bradley Plaugher Bruce Raines (Shelly) and Barry Raines; his son-in-law Don Epperly; and his brother Jeff Raines Gary (Pat). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent to Carilion Hospice or St. Jude Hospital.
