He is survived by: his parents, Richard Shepherd and Ann Shepherd; his son Joseph Allen Clay Shepherd; his grandmother Virginia Giles; his sister Heather Shepherd; and his stepchildren, William Justus, Andrew Guynn and Samantha Guynn. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
