He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert "Elmer" Johnson, Sr. and Hallie Emma Watson (Jester); his sister Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Johnson Ellis; his granddaughter Sabrina Marie Thornton; and his nephew Joshua Dean Smullin.
He is survived by: his children, Jesse Dwayne Johnson (Krystal Wilt) of Stockton, Lori Marie Johnson (C. W. Parks) of Mears Station, Virginia, Billy-Joe Johnson (Laura) of Stockton and Windy Grace Mason of Onancock; his brothers, Rev. Robert Randolph "Bobby" Johnson (Lynne) and Robert "Elmer" Johnson, Jr.; and also Pete Rowley. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
