Lynn Butler Matthews Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lynn Butler Matthews of Chincoteague Island, Virginia, who passed away on December 20, 2024 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Lynn may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Norma Hancock Butler and Rupert Butler; and her brother Kenny Butler. She is survived by: her husband Donnie Ray Matthews; her son Aaron Matthews (Rhonda); her grandchildren, Todd Matthews and Lillie Matthews; her sister Ruth Grundman (Bruce); and her brother-in-law Rick Matthews (Laura Kerbin). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Union Baptist Church (6365 Church St, Chincoteague, VA 23336).
