He was predeceased by: his parents, James Early Martin and Ida B. Martin; and his siblings, Barbara Martin, Mae Martin, Jean Martin, James Martin and Joseph Martin.

He is survived by: his wife Lillie Penn Martin; his children, Latania E. Cook (Stalling) and Andre Martin (Maranda); and his sister Annie Martin. He is also survived by two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
