He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Taylor and Ruth Taylor; and his siblings, Mary Lynn Plemmons, Shawnie Lee Kestner and Paul D. Taylor, Jr..

He is survived by: his children, Shannon Lee Taylor (Kim) of Troutville, VA and Shelly Norrise of Chilhowie; his grandchildren, Emma Marie Fay Taylor, Bowen Lawrence Taylor, Logan and Landry Norrise; and his brother James A. Taylor (Shelby). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
