She was predeceased by: her parents, Straley Byrd Dinkins and Mary Elizabeth Edmiston Dinkins; and her sister Norma Barrack. She is survived by: her husband Jerry Mays; her daughters, Shannon Mays Shepherd (Jamie) of Chilhowie, VA, Allison Mays of Abingdon, VA and Rhiannon Mays Adams (Jason) of Millers Creek, NC; her sisters, Jo Ann Blevins (Charles) of Bristol, VA, Becky Powers (Clay) of Chilhowie, VA and Mary Lynn Lawson (K. W.) of Chilhowie, VA; her grandchildren, Ryan Evans, Brad Evans, Brandon Evans, Reid Stiltner, Austin Triplette, Kensey Shepherd and Jake Shepherd; her great grandchild Everleigh Evans; her aunt Virginia Edmiston; and her sisters-in-law, Betty Mowery (John) and Jeanie King (Paige). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
