He is survived by: his wife Janice G. Burton; his children, Christina Stanfield (Kurt), Elizabeth Brown (Jerry) and John Carter Burton, III (Suzanne); and his grandchildren, William Tyndall, Jr. (Morgan), Victoria Pochucha (Cullen), Kelsea Burton (Nick), Holly Brown, Carter Burton (Alli), Burton Brown, Graeson Burton and Andrew Stanfield (Annie Rae). He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
