He was predeceased by: his wife Doris L. Owens; his son Raeford L. Owens; his stepson Tony K. Moody; his parents, Roy Owens and Alice Owens; and his siblings, Curtis, Junior, Dewey, Betty and Lula.
He is survived by: his stepsons, John H. Moody III (Rose) and Danny R. Moody; and his sisters, Rachel, Shirley, Mary and Bobbie. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous family and friends.
