He is survived by: his children, Donna Mercer (Karl), Jeffery Cunningham (Nita), Tami Perry and William Cunningham (Jean-Carol); and his sister Patricia Crank (Bill). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the McKee-Stone Funeral Home (109 Broad St, Martinsville, VA 24112).
