It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charlie Eugene Richter of Chesterfield, Virginia, who passed away on November 12, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Richter, Sr. and Lula Pinkleton Richter; and his wife Bessie Vest Richter. He is survived by: his sons, Bruce (Deborah) and Gregory Richter (Marcia); his grandchildren, Justin (Krista) and Kasey Richter; and his great grandchildren, Hank and Brooklynn.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Chesterfield County Police Foundation, either online or P.O. Box 1684, Chesterfield, VA 23832.

“My mom, Glennie Pinkleton was Eugene's first cousin. I was out of state and not part of family gatherings when Eugene and Bessie would visit Grandma. When the youngest Pinkleton - De;lores - told me it was his birthday a few years ago I wrote to him and then we had some great conversations on the phone. He had such wonderful stories. He told me about meeting Bessie, and his service during the war, and with the police. I wish he had written a book. I will miss him. Linda Maul Kirkpatrick”
