It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rodie A. Cherry (Chester, Virginia), born in Littleton, North Carolina, who passed away on February 20, 2020, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Alston and Hattie Fitts Alston; her husband Edward James Cherry; her children, Larry M. Cherry, Sr. and Dorothy Cherry; her godson James Edward Cherry; her grandson Andrew Smith; and her son-in-law John Jones.
She is survived by: her children, Nathaniel Cherry (Judith), Bobby Cherry (Claudette) of Chesterfield, VA, Richard Cherry (Sharmeyne) of Hopewell, VA, Viola Jones and Virginia; her daughter-in-law Janet Cherry of Hopewell, VA; her grandchildren, Lisa Singleton, Jill Harris, Nathaniel Cherry, Jr., Shawna Thomas, Larry Cherry, Jr., Nicole Jones, Shavon Cherry, Richard J. Cherry, Marquita Leake, Shawn Cherry and Jamie Cherry; and her niece Ann Postell. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
