He was predeceased by: his parents, Reno Howard and Orva Mae Meadows Richmond; his former wife Edna Richmond; his son William Samuel "Billy" Richmond; and his siblings, Shirley Elizabeth Keaton, Maxie Gene Richmond and Patricia Gail Rothe.
He is survived by: his children, Robert David Richmond Jr. and Sandra Denise Bolling (Mike); his grandchildren, Joseph Matthew Richmond, Marily Denise O'Neil, Jennifer Neely, Willie Nutter, Logan Ray Richmond, Riley Beth Richmond, Amanda Dawn Ballengee and Zachary Dylan Bolling; and his siblings, Reno Glenn Richmond, Rita Mae Lowe, Warren Fuller Richmond, Rolfe Ashley Richmond (Kristene), Ralph Fulton Richmond (Janet), Audie Phil Richmond and Michael Gregory Richmond (Deana). He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren.
