He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Purden and Maggie Wesson; his sister Betty Jean Whitfield; and his sister-in-law Vinney Perry. He is survived by: his wife Mattie McNeil; his son Kenneth McNeil (Bolinda); his siblings, Shirley Taylor (Eddie), Johnny McNeil (Maxine) and Roosevelt McNeil; his grandchildren, Erica McNeil, Sidney Winfield, Kenneth McNeil, Jr., Lela McNeil and Layla McNeil; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Martin (George), Rosette Rowe, Gail Johnson, Bunnie Farrer (Thomas), Maggie Smith, Martha Tucker (James), Josephine Mason, Roy Rives, Larry Rives (Sonja), Clifton Rives (Barbara), Steve Rives (Angela), William Beasley, Earnest Beasley (Mary), Harold Beasley (Patricia), Calvin Beasley (Debra), Nelson Beasley (Angela) and Lester Beasley (Annette). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
