She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Leon and Alleta Painter Puffenberger; her former husband Richard D. Johnston; and her sister Ann P. Clayton. She is survived by: her husband Charles E. King; her niece Lisa A. Smith (Randall); her brother James Puffenberger (Sallie); her grandsons, Christopher Smith (Elizabeth), Daniel Smith (Victoria) and Jarred Smith (Brittany); her great grandchildren, Michael Smith, Scarlett Smith and Emilia Smith; her nieces, Jamie Karpa (David) and Lori Mason (Danny); her great-nephew Justin Cline (Chelsea); her great-niece Alexandria Collins; and also, Tavi Collins and Kenzie Foss.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home (245 S Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23669). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
