He was predeceased by: his parents, James Andrew Butler and Lucille Sutherland Butler; and his sister Patricia Romine. He is survived by: his wife Joan Butler; his children, Pam Sterner (Bill) of Charleroi, Karen Butler of Chester and James David Butler II (Kelly) of Henrico, Virginia; his grandchildren, Sadie Restivo (Todd) of Bridgeville, James Cabell Butler of Henrico, Madison Balagtas and Noah Balagtas of Henrico, Virginia; his great grandchild Atticus Restivo; and his siblings, Barbara Johnson of Columbus, Ohio and John Butler of Bluff City, Tennessee. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church.
