He was predeceased by: his parent Frances Benson; and his brothers, William Frances Sheffield and James Elvin Sheffield, Jr.. He is survived by: his parent James Elvin Sheffield, Sr.; his wife Beverly Leadbetter Sheffield; his children, Franklin Mason Sheffield, Jr. (Janet), Audra Branzelle (Dennis) and Tia Field (Andy); and his sister-in-law Charlotte Sheffield. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
