It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charlene Spence of Chester, Virginia, who passed away on November 14, 2020, at the age of 53, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her children, Lawrence Randolph Thomas Sr. and Julie Mae Hill Thomas; her spouse Willie Sherwood Spence; her son Isaiah Thomas Spence of Chester, Virginia; her niece Yvonne Bashay Lee; her mother Julie Mae Hill Thomas of Emporia, Virginia; her grandmother Cornelia Bernice Walker of Mechanicsville, Virginia; her siblings, Warren Kelvin Thomas of Jarratt, Veronica Thomas Powell (Shawn) of Emporia and Lawrence Randolph Thomas Jr. of Pleasant Hill; her nieces, Courtney Thomas, Raven Thomas and Morgan Dailey; her nephew Jordan Thomas; her great-nephews, Jakori Thomas and Jahri Thomas; her great-niece Jade Thomas; her uncle Belma Tucker (Jannette); her cousin Stephanie Mincey Owens; and her friends, Tasha Turpin, LaTangie Hardy-Robinson and Molly Robinson. She was also cherished by aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends.
Recently, the COVID-19 pandemic forced her to discontinue her gym membership and set up an in-home gym in order to safely continue her journey to better health in a more safe and secure environment.
She Walked to End Alzheimer's, completed several 5K Breast Cancer Walks, Multiple Sclerosis Walk, Relay for Life and Weight Watchers Walk-It Challenge with friends and family that shared her common goals and sense of duty.
