With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Bertha Ortiz Phillips of Chester, Virginia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Bertha Ortiz left this world on June 17, 2024 at the age of 87, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Manuela Ortiz, and Roberto Ortiz, Sr.; her husband Marshall Phillips, Sr.; her son Michael Phillips; her siblings, Amellia Kilbane, Hortencia Garcia, Felicita Adkins and Roberto Ortiz, Jr.; and her brothers-in-law, Fred Phillips, Jr. and Douglas Phillips.

She is survived by : her children, Marshall Phillips, Jr. (Stephanie), Sally Dillon (James), James Kevin Phillips, Tricia Cubert (Zach) and Fred T. Phillips III (Lesley); her grandchildren, Marshall Loudon Phillips, Kathryn Turner, James Dillon, Mary Dillon, Michael Phillips, Jr., Kaitlynn Gordon, Christopher Phillips, Joey Vangel, Sara Edwards and Megan Phillips; and her daughter-in-law Winnie Phillips. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Visitation was held on Friday, June 21st 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Ann Catholic Church (17111 Route 1, South Chesterfield, VA 23834). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, June 21st 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
