He was predeceased by: his father Melvin Stites; and his sister Jacqueline Johnson. He is survived by: his mother Ola Faye Boston Johnson (Herbert); and his siblings, Edward Johnson (Cidney), Daron Johnson (Katherine), Darnell Johnson (Latoya), Debra Johnson and Helen Johnson. He is also survived by uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
