She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis H. Jackson Jr. and Ada Lanetta Jackson; and her brothers, Tommie and Mark Jackson. She is survived by: her husband Lacy C. Vess Jr.; her children, Susan H. Lex (Jeff), Timothy B. Vess (Teresa) and Eric C. Vess; her grandchildren, Lauren Lex Mosley (Jerry), Logan Lex (Mycaela), Nora Vess, Matt Massetti (Heather), Steffanie Peach (Ben), Tera Bowman (Michael) and Trinity Mendoza; her great grandchildren, Carsynne, Nolan, Launa, Max, Lily, Aria of Timothy, Riley, Liam, Jameson and Olivia; her sister Sharon; and her nieces, Meg, Jennifer, Kristie and Amy. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel (524 Cedar Rd, Chesapeake, VA 23322). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
