He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruel Bill Johnson and Mary Doughtie Neice; his sisters, Delores Johnson Kuzel and Hazel Johnson Perdue; his children, Linwood Ruel Johnson Jr. and Peggy Ann Johnson; his grandchildren, Linwood Ruel Johnson III and Tammy Lynn Johnson-Satterfield; his great grandchild Colton Mitchell Hysell; and his great great grandchild Charlotte Rhea-Lynn Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Sue Johnson; and his children, Kellye Muncy (Ken Muncy), Kristi Edwards (Steven Edwards), Kimberly Primavera (George Primavera), Jimmy Johnson, Steve Johnson and Edward "Jay" Walker. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, a brother-in-law, a sister-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Temple Baptist Church (1322 George Washington Hwy N, Chesapeake, VA 23323). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
