He was predeceased by: his parents, Hayes Lee Russell and Evie Ferguson Russell; and his siblings, Wilma Fodrie, Judy Russell and Rex Russell.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Ball Russell; his children, Jeff Russell (Lisa) and Christine Russell; his grandsons, Parker, Peyton and Preston Russell; his great grandchild Atlas Russell of Alabama; his brother Max Russell (Carol); his niece Lou Ann Barrow (Jeff); and his nephews, Mark Fodrie (Carol), David Fodrie (Janet), John Russell (Sue), Andy Russell (Cathy) and Paul Russell (Cara). He is also survived by loving father and grandfather.
