He was predeceased by: his son Andrew R. Spillane; his brother David; and his parents, James Spillane and Corine Spillane. He is survived by: his wife Barbara F. Spillane of New Haven, CT; his children, Timothy J. Spillane (Anne Spillane) and Ellen Spillane Levine of Santa Ynez, CA; his grandchildren, Jessie, Jake, Leah, Sadie Levine, Renee, Megan, Connor Spillane, Elizabeth, Hannah, Zeth Weaver, Evan, Chloe and Christa Spillane; his sister-in-law Janet (Bob Brady); his nieces, Pam, Suzanne and Carole; his nephew Michael; and also Josh Levine.
Although he had overcome many health challenges in the past few years, he lost his life to Covid.
His favorite charity is St. Jude Children's Hospital and donations can be made in his honor.
