He was predeceased by: his sister Gloria Hall. He is survived by: his wife Judith Bond Hackworth; his children, Heather D. Taylor (Michael), Brian W. Hackworth and Jeremy W. Hackworth; and his siblings, Beth Jennings, Becky Gower and Charles Hackworth. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
