He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Cleveland Ford and Virginia Cox Ford; his daughter Sheila Darlene Ford; and his brother Grover Ford. He is survived by: his wife Martha Anderson Ford; his daughters, Pamela Ford White (Joseph), Anita Ford King (Randy) and Kathy Ford (Toby Bowman); his grandchildren, David William Ford, Heather Nicole King, Colby Wayne King, Joshua White and Taylor White; his children, Jordan and Juliette Hiatt; his siblings, Brenda McGuyer, Joyce Phillips, Ruth Akers and Gary Ford; and his close friends, Howard and Nancy Allen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Nation Rifle Association.
