It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Cathleen Adkins of Chatham, Virginia, who passed away on May 9, 2022, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father William D. Day; her husband Jessie Lee Adkins; her children, Barbara Ann Adkins, Charlie, Jimmy, David and Richard Adkins; and her siblings, Ruth Jones, Samuel, William Jr. and John Day.

She is survived by: her children, Virginia Fuller, Frances Wooding (Bernard), Nancy Penn (Leonard) and John Alvin Adkins (Louise); and her sisters, Nancy Long and Helen Edwards. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
