He was predeceased by: his father S. D. Atkinson, Jr.; and his former wife Linda Clayton Atkinson. He is survived by: his mother Iris Harvey Atkinson; his wife Angeles Perez Atkinson; and his siblings, Annette Atkinson and Donald Atkinson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and a large family of in-laws.
