He was predeceased by: his mother Alice Wimbush Chaney; and his brother Henry Lee Chaney. He is survived by: his father Henry Chaney; his daughters, Tara Carter of Chatham, VA, Dynisha Carter of Chatham, VA and Sheresa Carter of Danville, VA; the mother of his children Donna Carter; and his siblings, Samuel Chaney of Chatham, Michael Chaney of Dillwyn, VA, Carolyn Price of Chatham, Frances Booker of Danville, Louise Inge of Danville, Leshia Davis of Danville, Alice Faye Chaney of Danville and Sarah Chaney of Danville. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the family will schedule a memorial service at a later date.
