He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosa Elizabeth MacIntosh Mathews and John Edward Mathews; and his wife Carolyn Elizabeth Powell Mathews. He is survived by: his son Timothy Charles Mathews (Angela) of Durham; his stepson Wendell Ray White of Moyock; his daughters, Tammy McGeorge of Chatham and Tracee Luttrell of Chatham, Virginia; his sister Donna Elizabeth Gooch (Tommy) of Durham; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Alan Fields, Jennifer Marie Fields, Dustin Lane Mathews, Anna Nicole Mathews, Kristin Lynn Apple, Logan Marie Apple, Cory Ray White, Stacy Hoover and Bradley White; and his great grandchildren, Lance Ray Fields, Jodie Marie Fields and Noah Alan Fields.
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, all restrictions mandated by the guidelines set forth by the state must be followed by service attendants and staff.
