With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Pete Haskins of Chatham, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 23, 2024 at the age of 94. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Pete Haskins to pay them a last tribute.
As we bid Pete farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Pete is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Odie Anderson Haskins and Alice Watson Haskins; and his siblings, Octavia Doss, Elva Atkins and Mickey Haskins.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Oakes Haskins; his son Bill Haskins of Chatham; and his stepsons, Bruce Barker (Wendy) of Ringgold and Michael Barker of Danville. He is also survived by seven step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
