She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Robert Gibson and Doris Gibson; her husband Earl Carson Wilkes; and her siblings, Landon Gibson, Hilda Cocke, Nancy Peek and Peggy Buchanan.
She is survived by: her sons, Carey Wilkes (Gail) of Durham, NC, Jerry Wilkes (Shirley) of Wirtz and Tracey Wilkes (Mary Margaret) of Gretna; her grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Chand (Vinay), Wendy Richardson (Justin), Randy Wilkes, Olivia Wilkes, Matthew Wait and Elizabeth Wait; and her friend Andy Towler. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
