He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyril Jacob Rowland and Viola Jacobs Rowland; his wife Shirley McDaniel Rowland; his daughter Donna Ann Rowland; his granddaughter Angelica Rowland; and his brother Carlton Rowland.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Rowland of Milton, NC, Debra Purvis of Milton, NC and Amanda Richardson (Hugh) of Ringgold; his siblings, Harold "Fuzzy" Rowland (Brenda), Terecia Hamlett and Janet Bailey (Charles); his grandchildren, Robert Rowland II (Trinity), Joshua Rowland and Dakota Henry (Clifton); and his great grandchildren, Joseph Nadeau, Josey Nadeau, Jace Rowland, Kaleigh Matherly, Kaleb Matherly, Jazlyn Henry and Landon Henry.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Hillcrest Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Legion Altavista Post 36 and Gretna Post 232, P.O. Box 153, Altavista, VA 24517.
