He was predeceased by: his parents, Mamie Creasy Crews and Swanson Lee Crews; and his siblings, Lois Barbour and Olando Crews. He is survived by: his wife Dean Logan Crews; his children, Sandra Pickeral (Gary) of Penhook, VA., Jeff Crews (Connie) and Larry Crews (Stacey) of Chatham, VA.; his brother Billy Crews (Emily); and his grandchildren, Burt Pickeral (Brooke), Jason Pickeral, Jeffrey Crews (Allison), Cheryl Cockram (Dustin), Steven Crews (Rachel), Hunter Crews, Casey Crews, Haley Whitlow and Adam Crews. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
