It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Monroe Bloomer of Chatham, Virginia, born in Burkeville, Virginia, who passed away on April 19, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Theodore Eugene Bloomer; and his siblings, James Eugene Bloomer and Emily Bloomer Booth. He is survived by: his wife Jane Mylum Bloomer; his children, Joseph Matthew Bloomer (Deanna) of Newport News and Elizabeth Myers Bloomer (Eric) of Mt. Pleasant; and his grandchildren, Jackson Montgomery Bloomer, Olivia Ferrand Sucansky and Pierce Lawton Sucansky. He is also survived by niece and nephew.
