James Irby Giles Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Irby Giles of Chatham, Virginia, who passed away on July 31, 2020 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Giles and Bessie DeMott Giles; his wife Rachel Murphy Giles; and his siblings, Helen Wanger, Myrtle Murphy, Charlie Giles, Jr., Clifton "Pete" Giles and Benton "Red" Giles.
He is survived by: his children, Edith Giles Saunders (Danny) and James Edmund Giles; his grandchildren, Michelle Saunders and Ashley Mullins; his great grandchildren, Liam Mullins, Rachel Mullins and Makayla Fowler; his sister Frances Tanksley; and his sister-in-law Judy Riggins. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Concord United Methodist Church building fund.
