It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Florence Hodnett (Chatham, Virginia), who passed away on January 12, 2019, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parent Lula Woodson; her husband Oscar Hodnett, Sr.; and her siblings, Meriwell Dodson and Darlene Pritchett. She is survived by: her son Oscar Hodnett, Jr. of Hampton, Virginia; her goddaughter Thelma Martin of Hampton, Virginia; and her granddaughter D'Jala "Shorty" Barfield. She is also survived by two great grandchildren; six sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
